The informed Watford side who moved out of the relegation on match week 22 following a home win over Bournemouth stage a very impressive displayed against Tottenham who are without a win in the previous league games.
The first half ended with a disappointing 0-0 draw for the visitors, but the game started to see multiple counter attack attempts from Spurs – one of which almost cost Watford a hand ball that could have led to a penalty but the replays by VAR overturns the decision.
The second half of the games saw alot of missed chances from both teams.
A great chance for Watford came 10 mins after the break, when a header from Deeney in the box almost falls for Sarr, but before he can strike a volley, Lo Celso sticks out a boot to nick the ball
Few minutes later, Dele Alli misses a good opportunity, when Spurs break and Alli is free at the back post but wasn’t quite able to get over his header from Son’s deep cross and heads over.
Watford will travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Tuesday -before returning in action two days later to play their delayed FA Cup third-round replay at Tranmere Rovers on Thursday.
Spurs on the other hand, would be hosting Norwich City at home in the league on Wednesday.
