According to reports, the Nigerian Military on Thursday, November 7, said it had given more than 86 kids that were used as kid fighters(or child soldiers) by the Boko Haram terrorists to the Borno state government.
The army headquarters in an announcement by its representative(spoke person), Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, said the children were given over to the state government by the Operation Safe Corridor.
Onyema said the child soldiers who deliberately surrendered to soldiers of Operation Lafiya Dole are as of now with the Borno state Rehabilitation Center in Bulumkutu.
He(Onyema)point out that the Military discharged the kids to the state government to guarantee that different minors and surrendered Boko Haram members in the North east region get all the support expected to grasp harmony.
He likewise said that the kids handed over by the state government are between the ages of 10 and 19 and that they were part of more than 1,370 Boko Haram terrorists who had surrendered to soldiers.
He additionally said that a new set of 500 apologetic Boko Haram members will be moved to Operation Safe Corridor for the De-radicalization, Rehabilitation and Re-incorporation Program.
